What to wear for a St. Patrick’s Day party

One of the interesting things I like about American life is that most people always seem willing to join in if a party is involved! I noticed soon after I moved from China that there are so many unusual holidays, but people are happy to help celebrate. When my husband tried to explain to me about St. Patrick’s Day I was very confused. Most people in China had heard about Valentine’s Day and even Christmas but what was this holiday? What is a leprechaun and where is that pot of gold? When I looked into the history there was something about snakes, how did this become a holiday or a reason to have a party? Oh well. I guess any excuse is good enough to have some fun! 😉

Are you going to any St. Patrick’s Day party this weekend? First of all, be careful! It seems that a lot of people go a bit over their limit on this holiday and probably shouldn’t be driving! So if this happens to you, please make sure someone else is behind the wheel! That way you can concentrate on the important stuff. Like looking fabulous for your party! In today’s post I am going to help you get prepared for the big day.

I love being classy even when I am celebrating, so a classic black and white outfit is a no brainer. The white with black graphic design T-shirt is edgy and on trend but still very flattering. It has a cool chic feel and gives your figure all the right curves. And of course it plays very nicely with the black and white zebra striped skirt. A midi-skirt is your best friend if you want to have that elegant ladylike vibe. Black and White on its own can come off as too serious, so I’m using a statement necklace from The Shopping Bag to bring some soul to this basic look. After a few toasts and a lot of laughs, you may need something to keep you warm when it’s time to make your exit from the party. My teal cardigan gives this basic outfit a little more color with that required Irish kick! The Shopping Bag has a big selection for you to choose from for your look. And it’s not just the Irish who are lucky. By using the code LUCKY at checkout you can score an extra 17% off all items now until midnight on St. Patrick’s Day. Get it? St. Patrick’s Day is the 17th-17% off. Clever people!
