How to wear a crop top in your 30s! Or above!
I will be on my vacation from 3/20 to 3/28. You will still see my new post everyday but I will not be able to reply to your comments during those times. I will get back to you ASAP after I am back from my vacation.
Enjoy my daily fashion updates and my driving story.
See you and have a great day!
I was not sure about the crop top at first. Because I have enough reasons to believe that it will show my tummy and make me look fat. 😉 But I found the key to making it look good on me. The trick is to pair it with a high waisted bottom garment. And of course black is the best color to slim my or your figure. I hope you can give it try in the near future too! Don’t forget to send me a picture and we can all enjoy this moment! 🙂
My driving story continues below. Have fun!;)
Two gears to go!
I’ve been posting about when I learned to drive. So far, I haven’t gotten out of the small town I lived in. Our only car and the one I was using to learn had the un-American feature of a manual shifter. That meant that I had to decide which of the 5 gears the car had to use. The fastest I had gone was 25 miles per hour. This was about the slowest speed limit there is in America, at least on a public road. That means that most of my driving experience so far was in first or second gear. Every once in a while I got into third gear if I was on a long straight section of road. We Chinese are well known for our skills in mathematics so it was pretty easy for me to determine that there were still two gears I had not used yet. My instructor, who also happened to be my husband, decided it was time to use those gears too. So that meant it was time to leave town: At least the downtown area. Once you got a couple blocks in any direction away from the main intersection that was the center of town the speed limit started to go up.
First it would go to 35mph. If you kept going it would raise again to 45mph. Once you got truly out of the main town area it went up again to 55mph. Take one of those roads to the nearby freeway and the speed limit went up to a crazy 70 miles per hour! There is no way I was ready for that so we decided to start lower. One of the main roads through our town was actually a pretty big road for Michigan. It started in downtown Detroit and went mostly west and a bit north until it crossed the entire state. On the way it goes through several towns of various sizes including the one we were living in. I had been on the part of this road that went through our small downtown and was posted for 25mph. In my previous lesson I had turned off just before it hit the 35mph zone. This time, I would keep going! It seemed luck was with me on this drive as I went through the main intersection. I actually went smoothly through with a green light. Even at the next block, the signal stayed that beautiful emerald color and I drove on.
I knew from experience that the lane on the outside would end soon so I was prepared this time. I was already in the inner lane that kept going. Before I knew it, I was getting closer and closer to the white sign with the black 35 on it. And there it was. Give it some more gas and grab the shifter. Clutch in, shifter back, clutch out. Yes! I was in fourth gear! When you had never driven more than 25mph and most of the time well below that, going 35mph was pretty fast. But wait. Up ahead. My old enemy, the red light. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I took my foot off the gas and started to slow down. Just as I was ready to push in the clutch, the light turned green. I should probably buy a lottery ticket. It seemed that it was my lucky day! There’s another sign with numbers on it. 45mph! OK, give it some more gas, clutch in, grab shifter, up-over-up, 5th and final gear! Yay for me! Wow, this seems fast! If I kept going I would soon get completely out of town and into the countryside. There, the speed limit would be 55mph. I didn’t want to use up all my luck so this was fast enough for today. There was a side street turning right just ahead so I moved my foot from the gas to the brake and put my turn signal on. Hmm. Still going pretty fast, more brake. No, still going really fast! MORE BRAKE! I had discovered another of those crazy driving rules. The faster you are driving, the harder it is to slow down. OK, BRAKE, BRAKE, BRAKE, AND TURN. And stall. I had been so concerned about getting around the corner onto the side street that I had forgotten to push the clutch back in. Maybe no lottery ticket. I hope you’re enjoying the ride! Please come back for more!
