Got a special order? Let’s hear it! I’m always looking for suggestions and comments!
Are you still following celebrities for fashion and style inspirations? Oh no! If so, you’re already out of date! 😉 In fact, nowadays fashion bloggers are the new cool kids on the block and already are at the leading edge of the trends all over the world.
In my second “They Got It Right” episode, we are going to talk about one of the hottest trends now, the midi skirt! When you think about midi skirts, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Lol, mine was “challenging”. I am a petite so I have to be careful with the proportion. If not, I can look 10 pounds heavier and about one foot shorter! This is NOT a good combination! 😉
Here are some brilliant bloggers out there who got this right!
Group 1: The black and white print midi skirt. Let’s start with the basics.
When you see this classy black and white print midi skirt, what colors do you think of to pair it with? Black? White? Yawn! Pretty safe. Red? Still nothing new. But Cynthia paired it with bold blue. Very smart color choice and those colors are such great combo. The blue makes black and white more crisp, also the black and white prints make the blue more vivid.
I adore this look not because of the color choice. It is the style twist. Most of us will choose a little bit formal top but Aimee went the opposite way. She picked a more casual vibe white tank top to go with it, and I also love the little peek of black under her tank top. She made this classy midi more modern and fun.
Group 2: Architectural print midi skirt. The art is on your skirt!!
These type of prints are using new technology and sure catch our attention. The unique prints are vivid and fun! The top look is more chic and classy with the light colored blouse, and the bottom is more casual and young with the tank top.
Group 3: A yellow midi with chambray shirt.
OK, you caught me! The skirt in the bottom picture is not exactly a midi skirt. I had a hard time to find one but I hope you got the point. 😉
Chambray can make everything look young and chic. I always love to see somebody try new ways to mix and match, and show their unique personality.
Now, let’s summeraze:
1. Tuck your top in your midi, or wear a crop top. Anyway, make sure you’re not letting your waist go to waste! It’s the most important part of your figure for proportion control.
2. If you are not very tall, make yourself taller! Why do you think they invented all those heels?
3. For color choices to pair, either pick a color from the prints on your skirt, or pair it with an opposite color.
But the bottom line is to just have fun with it! 🙂
Here are my new looks for today. Have a great day! 🙂
