Gallery Direct Fine Art Prints Review and fashion linkup
There are so many people who have told me that they really like how I use colors in my outfits. Well, I do love colors. Uh, hello! My blog is called COLOR And Grace. You know, dressing up nicely and also having your own personal spin, is a kind of art for me. Since I think of it as an art form, finding color combo inspirations from other art forms seems like a natural.
Going to the local museum over and over didn’t seem too practical to me so I checked out my go to source of information place, the internet! One of the resources that I use all the time is Gallery Direct. I came across this fine art reproduction website the first time while I was preparing to remodel our living room. I was looking for not only something I might be able to hang on the wall of my newly improved room but also something I might be able to build a theme from. Gallery Direct is offering fine art, collection pieces, photography and even can print out your own photo on canvas for a more customized and personal masterpiece.
I read so many positive customer reviews about Gallery Direct and this honest feedback makes me feel very comfortable and safe to work with them. Well, how did my remodeling project turn out you may be wondering? Unfortunately it didn’t. Life has a way of getting in the way of your plans; even the plans of a super blogger like me! Both my husband and I had some unexpected (aren’t they always?) health issues and then we had some fairly major plumbing problems recently that pretty much took care of our budget. So, we had to delay our interior decorating project. Hey, on the plus side, my husband and I are both doing very well now and we can flush the toilet without fear of what might be happening in the basement! I know, TMI for sure! Anyway, I’m not sure why, but my husband didn’t seem too upset that our room remodel is on hold. I guess stripping wallpaper and painting 3 other rooms, 2 hallways and moving about 40 yards of mulch in our yard since we moved here 4 years ago were enough for a while. Yup, slacker was the first thought that came to me too! Anyway, just because we aren’t looking to update right now, I can’t help going back to Gallery Direct to check out the new collections.
Our bank account might be down but it’s not out! We will just have to postpone our plans a bit. While we are waiting for our savings to grow, I started to use this website as my inspiration resource. Maybe not for my walls right now but instead I’m getting new ideas for my wardrobe! 😉 What do you see from this art piece below from Gallery Direct?
As the name of my blog should tell you, the things that really catch my eye first are the colors. I see the white, blush and green in the flower and the leaves, and the washed out blue for the background. This color combo is so relaxed but chic at the same time. What do you think of the outfit today that I put together based on this art piece?
I love this piece below and here is how I interpret it to help coordinate my outfit. Red and black are a classic combo, but the hint of gold just adds more glamour to it.
What about this pair?
Or these rich colors together?
Maybe just a peek of color from the sky?
When I see this piece of art, it always reminds me of when we were in Europe a few years ago. Notice the woman in the painting? It’s true, she TOTALLY stole my outfit! I’m pretty sure van Gogh, Monet, Rembrandt and Picasso got a lot of inspiration from the fashionable people they saw. Well, maybe not Picasso, I think I look better than the people in his paintings even WITHOUT makeup! Anyway my point is, if it’s OK for these great artists to use fashion to help create their art then it’s just as fair for me to use their art to create my fashion.
All the art pieces I’ve shown are available from Gallery Direct. One feature you’ll appreciate about this website is how user friendly it is. You can search by subject, for example, if you are into Asian art. Or simply by color, for instance, if you are a big fan of black and white. I’ve got a few pieces in mind for when our living room project does come back to life and will be sure to share the results with you when it’s done. I hope you do the same. Please let me know what masterpieces you used to take your room from boring to blazing!
