Spring into colors your ultimate color and shopping guide
When I am going through rack after rack of clothes, (and no, I don’t mean in my walk in closet!) I always look at the color first, and then size, next will be style and last but certainly not least, quality. And I do it in that order. Now the weather is warming up and it is that time of year to upgrade our wardrobe with some fresh spring color theme pieces. And how better to do that than using the Pantone Fashion Colors Report for Spring 2016 as a guideline? If you know me, you will not be surprised that I never like to follow all those fashion rules. When I create my outfit, just like with my cooking, a recipe is just a suggestion. Of course my husband says the same thing about speed limit signs but that’s for another post. Anyway, I will change up my outfit to match how I feel at that moment.
1. Rose Quartz
I love this calm and feminine combo. It’s as pretty to my eyes as it is easy for my mood. Since it is so light it’s also a natural for lightweight materials that we can use with a trench coat for the spring. With just that one key piece, your spring wardrobe is instantly upgraded.
This is another very calm color (how could it not be with that name?) that normally I don’t use very much. I usually prefer to shout it out a bit with more bold colors instead. But this year my tastes have changed it seems. I guess I’ve started to appreciate those barely there colors more than before. There is something to be said for subtlety after all. For this color, I probably will invest in a dress that reduces the feminine feel but adds a little bit of a modern vibe.
This is the color that I always love because of the happiness it brings to my eyes. I know it is maybe too much for some of you. If so, just use this color on an accent piece. For example, a bag or bracelet. But few colors spell out springtime as bright and clear as this one.
This is another color that I love dearly. So bright and passionate! It just makes me feel life is good again! Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I feel it’s bad usually, but you know what I mean! 😉 Anyway, I know, some of you may think it is too loud and strong again. But you can kick that idea to the curb by using it on your shoes. See what I did there? Oh yeah, I’m as hot as this color!
I only picked 4 out of top 10 colors. And you can too. Or three, or seven. Maybe your top choices are completely different. And don’t worry, honestly you don’t need to have them all. But it really is hard to go wrong if you start off by doing a bit of color homework. I hope it will help you shop wisely and with more confidence this spring. After all, you’re not supposed to be stressed out when you’re building your spring wardrobe. You should be as relaxed as when you’re getting a Swedish deep tissue massage. Oh my, that sounds good, uh, gotta go! Thank you for reading and have a great day!
