Not just a long vest, it is a trench vest!
What is your personal all time fave transition piece from winter to spring? Mine has to be the trench coat. If you have been reading my blog then you probably noticed that I have a lot of trench coats. From traditional tan or black to very colorful ones. But since last year, I started to find my heart is leaning towards the trench vest more and more.
Especially for a petite woman such as me, sometimes a long trench can be very overwhelming. I might just sort of disappear in it. 😉 But simply by losing the sleeves, the trench vest has more room for me to show a little bit of skin on my arms. I am not sure if you are aware, but pulling up sleeves can make you look taller and leaner. This is a real plus for a height challenged but still very cute blogger, and the trench vest serves this purpose perfectly.
Why not another style of long vest? I believe if you are aiming for sophisticated and elegant, nothing can beat a classy trench coat. Now the trench vest keeps the high look but with an It-girl vibe. All the fashionable details of a classic trench coat are still in the long vest, from the tailored flap pockets at the chest and hips to the button-flap epaulets at the shoulders. The stylish twist of the sleeveless cut looks great with crop tops or cute T-shirts and can easily be layered over everything from short shorts to midi skirts.
Below is another way that I have styled with mine.
The trench vest can be dressed up for work or worn with jeans and a t-shirt. Mine can even be worn just like a dress. It’s truly one of my go-to pieces!! Here are some cute looks that you may score and start to rock it!
