How to look tough yet feminine after 40s— A motor jacket with floral dress
What single piece of clothing do you think of when it comes to a tough vibe? For me, it must be a leather moto jacket. Motor jacket is nothing new, it is just like a little black dress to every woman.
I am always attracted to the opposite or contrast colors and styles. For example, I like feminine but not always all the way girly. I would rather add a little bit of tough chic to spice up the look. So how to look tough yet feminine in your 40s or beyond? Most of us don’t have the teenager’s figure any more. So skin tight jeans and a sexy crop top with the motor jacket might look very good on a 20 something girl but may not be the best fit for us more mature, experienced, worldly, mature and sophisticated (did I mention mature? I can’t remember!) women. So what can we do to pull off a tough yet feminine look after our 40s? The answer has to be a motor jacket with floral dress.
For the dress, the best choices for a 40+ women would be a shift dress or fit and flare. The shift dress can cover your tummy and the hem of your short motor jacket automatically creates the waist line for you. The fit and flare dress already has great built-in structure so you don’t need to worry about your waist line. Of course if you have a great figure, then you can even rock this look in a bodycon dress.
Here are a few motor jackets that are on my wish-list and that will pull off this look for a 40s woman.:
And below are some floral dresses that do more than just being pretty but are also flattering for our over 40s body:
