How to dress like a girl boss or boss lady
Since I started blogging, I have met so many girl bosses or boss ladies. I was one before when I was in China and hopefully I will become one again soon too. 😉 By now you should already all totally understand DRESS FOR SUCCESS.
It doesn’t matter if you want to rise through the ranks in your workplace, or are developing your successful small business. You need to be seen as “the boss”. It’s time we stop dressing like the person who gets her/him coffee, right? What does your outfit say about you? Now drop everything (well except the coffee) and look at yourself in the mirror. What do you see? A boss with power and confidence or a staff member who follows orders? Whats your sign, wolf or sheep?
Whether we like it or not, how we dress every single day, from our first interview to key client meetings, sends a very clear message about who we are, how we view ourselves/our business and how seriously we take the job we’re doing.
Then how to dress like a girl boss or boss lady?
Red has always been the color most closely associated with power and confidence. What signal do you want to send? Mine is “I’m in charge” in red. Research has shown that colors can greatly affect our moods and the way other people respond to us. You want to be treated like a boss, then dress like one first!

2. Use a Power Bag
A well made structured bag in a dark color is a great substitute for the traditionally masculine briefcase and shows that you are organized, armed and prepared for anything. Stick with a basic and classy silhouette for that just right sleek vibe.

3. Wear heels
A pair of simple and sleek heels gives you the height, confidence and just a hint of femininity. Always remember to use what you naturally have. Being a real woman is way more powerful than pretending you are not. History is full of strong females that weren’t afraid to remind others who really runs things. 😉 The best height for a pair of heels to look like a girl boss, is between 3 and 4 inches. Those kitten heels are for young and shy girls, and those sky high needles or shoes with platforms are for clubbing after your board meeting.

4. Put on red lipstick
Orange red makes you look more approachable and relaxed. Save the real red for parties. Burgundy is a very powerful color to create the “Devil Wears Prada” type of boss. 😉

Now go to your wardrobe to see if you have the accessories for the girl boss look.
