Patches Fashion Trend 2016 D.I.Y with Sticker APP
There is no doubt that patches are having a moment. This staple is the hottest thing in fashion now. We have seen many fun patches and badges pinned or sewn onto clothes, mainly denim jackets, cutoffs, or jeans.
I love this trend but I don’t really want to spend much money on it because it is just a trend, it may look very silly next year. So D.I.Y is the way to go. But I don’t want to sew any patches on my designer jeans either. For one reason, my sewing machine and I just don’t always get along and for another, I don’t want to take a chance of ruining my own clothes. So here comes my genius idea—use stickers instead.
I have ordered things from Sticker App before and I loved it. You can read here to see more details. Anyway, when this crazy idea popped in my head. The first thing I could think about was Sticker App. I knew with their selection I would find some way to make it happen. I did mention I’m a genius didn’t I?
First I downloaded a lot of fun patches images to my computer, and then I uploaded to Sticker App. After I resized them to fit. I totally customized my sticker sheet. It is so easy to use their website and then boom, it is done!
A week later, here is what I received.
And now is the fun D.I.Y time! I started it from my bag. It took a while to decide what theme I wanted but after I got that one figured out, it just sort of came together. Pretty much just peel and stick on where I like it.
Below is the bag before.
In the middle of the process. You already can see how much of a fun vibe those stickers instantly add on!
Then move to my jeans. Here is before.
And working on it!
Whoa!It is done! I just love it!
The final part, put stickers on my shoes! Below is before.
After two little cute stickers to spice them up, they are now no more boring flats!
Bag and shoes duo.
And here are the final looks!
This project is easy peezy by using the stickers. But I have to be honest with you. The stickers didn’t last long on my jeans. I think because of the movement and probably the material. I think some stiffer fabrics would probably have better luck lasting. If I put them on the lower leg with less curve it may be better too. But the stickers I put on my bag and shoes, are still staying put now after several days. So, if you just need a fun photo shoot, or short term usage, like a week or so. Then the stickers are a great idea. I can easily swap the stickers when I am tired of them or want to change up my theme. But just keep in mind what you stick to will make a big difference on how long they will stay stuck. The leather is definitely better than cloth to hold longer. And the less movement the area sees, such as folding or stretching, the better.
Good luck and show us your own crazy, I mean genius, creative ideas by using Sticker App!
