This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own!

I am a gal who loves colors. I mean bold colors! They just have an incredible power to make my eyes so happy. For the holiday seasons, I love to wear red, orange, blue, purple and green to all the gatherings and parties. But, I know there are a lot of people out there who are not super comfortable with all those vivid colors. They love to wear sleek black looks. I totally get it and I personally love black as well! It is a color forever in trend and easily looks fancy. So today, with help from Anne Klein, I am going to share with you my take on how to wear all black from work to any holiday event.

I have worked in the corporate world for many years, and now I am a full time teacher. The dress code at our school is not as strict as my previous companies, but we still need to wear nice work attire. For this work look, I paired this black velvet capelet sweater from Anne Klein with a pair of black bowie pants, and a black cashmere sweater underneath to keep me warm walking from my classroom to outside supervising students at recess. A pair of very comfy flats are a must for my work look since I am on my feet all day long teaching. To spice up the all black look, I used different accessories to create the vibe I wanted for that day.

It’s tough looking professional and sophisticated at the same time, and then being event/party/happy-hour drink ready when you leave the office after a long day. It’s way too annoying to carry a change of clothing and sometimes you just want to take your outfit from work to play. I know I am very exhausted most days after teaching 4-5 classes, so I really appreciate a piece of clothing that I can wear to work and also to any events without too much of a hassle.

This timeless black velvet capelet sweater top can be transitioned from office to most events with very little effort. It makes it the perfect topper to drape over any look for an instant chic finish. The velvet material has a sophisticated fancy vibe and the cut of this top is very classy as well. The loose shape is super great to hide our not so flattering tummy after a big meal. Don’t you just love that flowy feeling when you are walking? It is so effortlessly chic!

At my work, we are often asked to attend fundraising events, meet with parents, or attend staff gatherings during the holidays. This top is the perfect one to wear from work to so many types of events. For a more formal look, I just put my hair down, and change my lipstick to bright red. If I would like to add a modern and edgy vibe, I put on my leather skinny bowie pants. Once I take off my cashmere sweater underneath and swap to a black tank top I am almost ready for anything! Of course, I can’t forget to put away my day time accessories and put on my pearls, a lot of pearls!

I am pretty sure if you are a career women, you probably already have several Anne Klein pieces in your closet. I personally adore the Anne Klein brand. The clothing is so well made and all are so classy. My absolute favorite work dress is by Anne Klein. It’s a gorgeous poppy red. The body is fitted until the waist, then flows into an A-line, knee length skirt with pockets….pockets! It feels very professional and girly. Just like most of the dresses from this brand, the cut is always fitting yet very forgiving. It lends a very flattering silhouette. I get compliments all the time when I wear their dresses or this black top to work. All of Anne Klein’s clothes look expensive and professional, but are still stylish and funky. The prices are quite reasonable as well compared with other work wear brands. In fact, you can find both professional and trendy pieces from their line. They have quite a lot of chic causal choices as well.

  1. Such a gorgeous outfit Grace! I love how you’ve styled the velvet capelet sweater and leather trousers both ways, very sophisticated. I only recently discovered the Anne Klein brand with a dress I picked up second hand and I love it so much, the fit is perfect. Thanks for linking up!
