Two month anniversary—I MUST be having fun!

Unbelievably, to me at least, my blog is 2 months old today! But I don’t think it looks a day over 7 weeks! I’m blown away and honored by how much it’s grown. I mean how many of you have taken time out of your busy days to choose to spend a bit of it with me is incredible. You hear all the time how it couldn’t have happened without you but I really mean it. Thank you so much! I think I’ve grown too. Two months ago I had yet to send my first tweet, post my first picture, upload my first video or write my first post. Now you accompany me all the time and everywhere I go! Even some places you’d probably rather not be! I’m a numbers person. They make things more real to me. So every day I check on how many people are on my blog and how I’m faring on this or that social media site.

I’m working really hard at this and I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am! I also love that I feel I’ve gotten to know many of you. I see your regular comments and replies and look forward to actually meeting you at a fashion or blogger event. I would love to hear even more from your side. Today I’m showing several pictures from the last 30 days that are my personal favorites. I hope you can take a few moments to leave a comment on the view from your eyes. Where did I hit it out of the park or where did I strike out? I’m also looking for sister bloggers who maybe would consider doing a guest post on my blog. I welcome friendly suggestions and constructive criticism on ways I can make my blog more enjoyable for you. I have a few ideas for the next month but several hundred heads are better than one! Thanks again and enjoy!

How to style a classic little black dress for Valentine’s Day

Time to take in the carbage!

I’m usually pretty healthy. I get my flu shot every year and for the most part have gotten through cold season without any problems. Unfortunately I’ve been a bit under the weather this week. I’m not sure if it’s something I ate, some sort of flu not covered by my shot or some other stomach ailment but I’ve had a bum tummy for a couple days now. It got bad enough that I went to see my doctor yesterday. I really like my doctor but she can be a bit too attentive. She can spend an hour with everyone telling stories and showing pictures of body parts I’d be perfectly happy with not knowing how they look. So while it’s great that you never feel rushed it also means that you’re usually in for a good 3 hours at the office! I got a couple prescriptions and hopefully am getting over it but one thing she suggested is to eat a bland diet made up of the kinds of carb filled foods I’ve been trying to stay away from the last couple years! We had to stop at the local Seven-11 on the way home for a loaf of no fiber, no whole grain, no seeds, nuts, health or texture plain white bread. I had a couple slices this morning toasted with butter. It was WONDERFUL! I mean I know it’s like the worst thing you can put into your body but after having gone without for a long time it’s quite a treat. Once I get back on track I’ll dump the bland for more nutritional fare but I plan to enjoy the short vacation to Club Carb. After all, Doctor’s orders!

Moving along in my countdown to Valentine’s Day I’m continuing with outfits that are just right for a romantic night out with your Significant Other. There is probably nothing more essential in EVERY woman’s wardrobe for an emergency dinner date than the Little Black Dress. Having one or more at the ready is as important as having candles and matches during a blackout. This time of year in Michigan really calls for keeping warm while you’re looking your best. I’ve featured sweater dresses several times over the last few weeks and see no reason to stop now! These pieces are really multifunctional. They keep you warm while they show off your figure. My dress has a flared frilly hem that gives it a bit of a bell shape at the bottom of the hourglass. The sleeves are also flared and ruffled to give interesting texture and depth. For more looks for this dress please see here.

Black tights and leather heels keep the look crisp and clean from top to bottom. Long drapy pearl and chain necklaces are a classic choice to compliment the pitch perfect pitch black of the dress. For my next layer a tough and chic short black leather biker jacket with lots of metal accents is a natural that keeps the night alive all day long. The zippers and rivets are a cool and blingy accent to the necklace and give that don’t mess with me vibe. For more looks with this biker jacket please see here. When the temperatures drop, I heat up with my faux fur leopard pattern coat. The black spots on the jacket are an easy tie in with the black base and the tans and yellows add welcome splashes of color. For more looks with this coat please see here. And speaking of that ever important pop I’ve grabbed my bright yellow leather studded clutch purse for that must have neon flash. My oversize sunnies look fabulous during the day while the rest of my outfit does the same after the moon and stars take over!
