Long flowy dresses the best choice for your beach vacation
A few weeks ago my husband and I went to Cancun for our spring break vacation. This is our second year in a row going to the exact same resort. So I had a pretty good idea what to pack and how to prepare. Well, mostly. We packed 4 bottles of spray on sunscreen for 7 days and it was enough. But even so, my husband and I both got cooked to a nice lobster red. I am thinking next time, we need to add maybe another bottle or two and some sunscreen lotion. 😉
Because my husband’s been having some health issues, we decided this year to just relax. I mean the type of doing nothing, just lay on the beach, take a nap, read a book and drink margaritas kind of relax. If you know me, you would be so surprised that I can do this. Usually, I am the type of person who has to do something; all the time. Just chilling would bore me to death. That was why, a few years ago, when we decided to give an all inclusive resort vacation a try, we only booked 4 nights. My husband worried I might just go nuts there. Lol. But as it turns out, he is a guru master in chilaxing. It’s sort of his superpower. And he was even able to train me over the last few years to slow down and laze up. Laziness, once learned stays with you and is still in my body’s memory. So I slowly relaxed. So much, that I even said I didn’t want to go home on the last day. 😉
On this trip we discovered the real meaning of vacation. Every day we slept for more than 10 hours. And then we would get up just in time for a late brunch with my cappuccino. Next, a nice long walk on the beach We always love this part the most and it has become a part of our daily exercise routine. We always found a more quiet stretch of beach and that’s where I took a nap every day while feeling the ocean breeze and listening to the waves. No one was as surprised as me but I LOVED it! And it’s so unbelievable for me how used I got to our slow pace. But I really enjoyed it. By 2 or so, we would head back to get our late lunch. On the way, we stopped by some tidal pools to see my little fish. Then we’d have a light and delicious snack while watching the birds fight over food in a nearby fountain. Next it was time to check out the pool area before heading back to our room to shower and dress for dinner. The earlier meals were buffets but each evening was at a different high end restaurant every night.
I pretty much lived in swimsuits and beach covers every day. Because for this trip I was there to relax, I didn’t take a lot of photos. But here are two maxi dress looks. For me, nothing looks better than a flowy maxi dress on the beach for an elegant lady. I wore a few other maxi dresses last year to my beach vacation too. You can see more looks here. What is your favorite look when you go on a beach vacation?
Below are a few others that I really like. I may just have to buy some for this summer. 😉
