2016 spring trend report Lace-up everything

By now you probably already know, in the fashion world, or most places actually, nothing is really new. The trends come and go, just about every 20 or 30 years the same trend will come back again with a slightly different twist. This includes the hottest trend this year so far, lace-up. Literally, it seems that lace-up everything is where it’s at this season. Hold on, I just came untied…OK, where was I? Oh yeah, lace-up is hot!

My first memory of lacing up has to be from my high school times. When I was a student in China, we didn’t have much fashion. It just wasn’t a priority or even a possibility. No, most people were too busy just trying to survive first. We didn’t have TV much less tablets, laptops, internet or any of that type of high tech luxury. But we did have books. I read so many books during my middle school and high school I was worried I would wear out my eyes! And no, I didn’t have glasses back then either, although I am sure I needed them. Anyway, those books showed me there is a very different world out there. One of my favorites was written by a female author from Taiwan. She traveled around the world and married her soul mate, a Spanish man. There was a black and white photo in the book where she was wearing wide legged pants and sitting against a pole in some desert place. And she wore a pair of lace up flats where the lace wound around her lower legs. Since seeing that picture, lace-up became the symbol for elegance to me. And it still is. Are you into this new trend now?

Like I said earlier, lace-up is everywhere, and on everything. Here are some great finds that will be those perfect additions to your spring wardrobe and will not break your wallet (THEY ARE MAINLY ABOUT $100). 😉

Let’s start with these cute tops.
You can find all of them here.
Now let’s go full body with some dresses.
You can find all of them here.
Or if you feel more like romping, how about some rompers?
You can find all of them here.
And now I really have to put my foot down. But only if it goes straight into one of these hot shoes that you really do need for your wardrobe! I want all of them! Oh, I don’t have room for them in my closet but when did that ever stop me? 😉
You can find all of them here.
Are you fired up with those hotties? I am. But make sure you choose the best color, cut and style for you. DO NOT BECOME A TREND VICTIM!

Nice look! You are right, should see fashion in lace about 40 years ago. Saw some pictures of my grandma and my mother wearing lace 40 years ago. They were so chic!
