Life After Loss Thanks For Raising Me Up
Next week I will take a few days off for the holidays and for my trip to LA, so I will just use today to say ‘Thank You’ to all of you that have raised me up during the darkest time of my life this year.
Every night before I fall asleep I always like to say thank you to God, or whatever greater being is out there. I don’t have a religion yet, but I am still grateful to be alive and quite healthy. I know I am the person who can make my dreams come true, but God is the one who has the power to protect me from a drunk driver, and all kinds of potential accidents. So thank you for watching out for me!
The most influential person in my life has to be my late husband. I had always been good at surviving because my anger motivated me to live. But my man is the person who taught me how to love. I often asked him how I was supposed to live without him. He always said “life is beautiful, enjoy it when you can.” He taught me to celebrate life even without the person I loved the most. Now I realize that there is nothing more powerful than the pure love of being alive, being able to breath the fresh air, run under the sun, try delicious food and have great conversation with family or friends. Man, I would not be the person I am today without you. Thank you so much for helping me grow from an ugly ducking into a strong and confident woman.
I am also super thankful to my family in America. They have given me a ton of love and support after my man passed away. Especially my step-daughter and her fiancé. They have been at my house almost every single weekend to help me with my blog photos, proofread my posts, and work around my yard and the house. All of those jobs were taken care of by my late husband before, and now they are the ones doing it. One of my friends once said “You don’t have any blood related to them and now that your husband passed away, they are just your friends.” But I would rather they are my family. Friends can change, but family is forever.
I can’t finish my thank you note without pointing out my amazing co-workers and great students. With their help and support, my daily working life is so much easier. Of course, I need to say how much I really appreciate all the friends I have made over the last 3 years on my blog and my social media. Most of us have not met in person yet, but I truly appropriate your positive comments that lift me up everyday!
Just like the song “You Raise Me Up” says:
“You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be”
I am on my way to chasing my dreams and that is because all of you have raised me up! Thank you soooo much for all of you have done to support me!
