A few weekends ago, my step-daughter, her fiancé and I decided to have a family beach picnic.
I haven’t done any beach picnic before. I bought a very cute picnic basket a few months ago that I have never used. So this is the perfect time to try something new.
What to Pack:
1. A Picnic Basket
I love mine because it came with all the eating utensils, even with a wine opener, glasses, a tablecloth, and napkins. This carry-it-all basket is not just good looking, it is also quite practical. Which I can carry almost all the food here. Mine doesn’t have a cooler lining so we also took a small cooler with us.
2. A Cooler or an Insulated Bag
It is obvious that you will need something to keep your drinks and food cool during a 90s degree’s days.
3. Bring bottled water instead of cups
This way will be easy to carry and move during the picnic without worrying the sand gets in the drink.
4. Check the park policy about alcohol
I packed a bottle of wine but when we arrived at the park, we were told that the alcohol is not allowed on the beach.
5. Buy a yummy sandwitch
We were all quite busy before the trip, so we decided to stop at a fancy sandwich shop to treat us with some fully loaded sandwich. We only do beach picnic once a year maybe, why not making it a little bit easier on us, right?
6. Pack cherries and cheese sticks for snacks
Anything that can just use fingers to eat is the best for a picnic. So we packed cherries and cheese sticks for snacks.
7. A portable speaker
I love music and my BOSE speaker. So I took it with us and played my favorite Nora Jones music there. It just instantly makes me calm and relaxed. Lol.
8. A big umbrella
We didn’t pack. But our neighbors did and we were all very envy. We are sweating all over while sitting on the super hot sand and under the 90s+ degree sun.
9. A big blanket and tablecloth
I put the big blanket underneath the tablecloth since it is quite thin.
What to wear
I packed a swimming suit of course, but I also like wearing a white dress for the time that we just social and chilling. Of course, don’t forget the sunglasses and sunscreen!
This was my first-time beach picnic. Next time, I probably will be a pro! Lol!
