What is your definition of women’s empowerment?

For me, it is about women being free to be our independent selves. Being treated equally by others in all aspects of life without a gender label. As a woman, I understand I must acquire empowerment myself rather than having it given to me by others.

But are we focusing on empowering only certain areas of a woman’s life (like our careers or family life)? Are we limiting ourselves? What about our empowerment in the bedroom and intimate relationships? Women have been socialized to put their needs second to their partner’s needs, both inside and outside of the bedroom. For me, women’s empowerment starts on a personal level. Women’s feelings and pleasure matter too!

Are you secretly waiting for someone to rescue you? Are you feeling truly happy inside and outside of your bedroom?

I have learned the world’s most powerful tool to a happy and successful life is speaking up about what you want. Asking for what we want seems to be a challenge that holds most people back.

Why are people afraid to speak up? The answer is the fear of REJECTION. The sad thing is that we are rejecting ourselves in advance by not saying anything. We’re saying no to ourselves before we even begin to speak about what we want.

You can watch this docuseries called ‘The Pleasure is Mine’. It is featuring a group of diverse women, from various life stages and cultural backgrounds, that celebrates and empowers women and their sexuality through touching stories, breaking stereotypes, and truly loving themselves so they can love others too.
Are you ready to speak up and #GetWhatYouWant? Let’s celebrate women by acknowledging that women’s pleasure matters too. The Pleasure is Mine! 😉

I love that you say women must take their power, not wait for someone to give it to them! For too long we have waited for permission, when all we have to do is give ourselves permission. Thank you for writing this!
