Gracefully Grieving: Rebuilding A Life After Loss

Grief can be a deadly storm that can wipe away our whole life! But grief can also be a great opportunity to rebuild a brand new life out of the ashes! Our decisions on how we rebuild either comes from love or fear. Which will you choose? Since the end of April, I have been attending zoom Yoga classes at least 4 times a week. During each class, we are always asked to dedicate the next 5 breath cycles to what we appreciate. God and my late husband Bob are always on my list. No matter where I look; the blue sky, the blooming flowers, the singing birds, or even…

International Widow’s Day: What It Mean To Be a Widow

You may not know it but today is International Widow’s Day! I didn’t know about it until I became a widow myself three and a half years ago. There are many people who tell me that I don’t look like a widow because I am too happy, too powerful and too put together! So it got me thinking that it is time to redefine the term WIDOW. Or better yet, what should an awakened, empowered widow look like? A widow is a woman whose world was unwilling destroyed and shattered. Being sad, angry, confused and scared is normal for widows at the very beginning stages of grief. But at the…

Turning Grief into Growth: Celebrating My Wedding Anniversary

Today marks my 4th wedding anniversary without my late husband Bob. We first met each other 16 years ago in Shanghai and 3 years later we got married.  Back on 6/18 of 2017, my step-daughter and I went to a Korean BBQ restaurant to celebrate this special day and we dedicated a toast to Bob. The next day, we hosted a life celebration party to honor my late husband. Instead of a funeral, my husband requested that we have a big party to celebrate his life. It was a success! Over a hundred people came and shared their stories about Bob. I was both laughing and crying when I listened to…

The emotional blocks that lead you to hold onto clothes that you no longer wear

As a new year and new decade begins, many of us are excited for a fresh start. Part of this fresh start often includes updating our wardrobe with new clothes. If you are currently at home, make a quick trip to your closet. If you are unable to go to your closet, you can just close your eyes and visualize the inside of it. As you look around in your closet, what are the three words you would use to describe it? For me, I consider my closet to be organized, colorful and trendy. For others though, they may look at their closet as being cluttered, cramped and outdated.  Everyone…

Ultherapy Helps Me Look My Best

This post is sponsored by Ultherapy, but all opinions are my own.  Looking good has always been something that has made me feel more confident and the reason why Color and Grace started out as a fashion blog. As we get older, fashion can only take us so far, and that’s where Ultherapy comes in. Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that lifts and tightens the skin on the neck, chin and brow, and smooths lines and wrinkles on the upper chest. It is the only non-invasive treatment that goes deeper to stimulates the production of your own natural collagen non-surgically, without any downtime. About three months ago, I went…

    Everyone Needs a Break Sometimes

I have been so incredibly blessed with all of the amazing things I’ve been able to do since starting this blog five years ago. What began as a fashion and beauty blog transformed into a blog about living with the cancer of my late husband that then transformed again into a blog about being a grieving widow that continued to evolve into me learning to live life to the fullest. Now, I want to take everything I’ve learned over the years of living and learning and help others learn to do the same. This Monday I will be traveling to Palm Springs, California to participate in two weeks of training…

Going Wild with Chico’s Animal Prints Fall 2019

This is a sponsored post by Chico’s, but all opinions are my own. Hey there, tiger… is it just me, or are things getting a little more wild up in here this fall? It’s been raining like crazy today, so I decided to take a little stroll around the mall. Oh. My. Goodness. Is this a mall or a zoo? Leopard print, snake skin, zebra print, giraffe print– animal prints galore! With so many bold prints, I understand that it can be a little scary to step away from the usual basics and dive into something a little bit more unusual, but never fear! With a little help from Chico’s,…

Styling Stripes With Stripes This Fall

Bold patterns to match a bold personality? Um, yes please! That’s one of the reasons I love fashion. You get to express yourself through the unique outfits you wear. There are times when fashion can be very touchy. Wearing the wrong shoes could potentially ruin a very cute outfit, for example. But there are other ‘rules’ of fashion many feel like they need to know. Keeping up with these latest fashion do’s and don’ts can definitely be exhausting. The good thing about this list is that 1. It’s an unofficial list which means 2. It pretty much stays the same for each person and 3. Your list can be completely…

How To Channel Vintage Pinup Vibes at Work

Everyone remembers the iconic scene in Grease when plain Jane Sandy trades in her ponytail and poodle skirts for red lipstick and a leather catsuit that electrifies Danny so much they feel the need to burst into song and dance. Good gravy, I only wish an outfit I wore would have that effect on people! But, there is a way to get as close as you can…  This edgy style was most popular amongst the rebellious young women of the 1950s, divided into a variety of subculture groups dubbed as greasers, rockabilly, and pin-up looks. While there are a few subtle differences between these three looks, they are all rooted…
