Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk Recap

As I’m writing this Susan G. Komen 3-day walk recap I have frozen bags of peas over the most sore spots on my body. Which isn’t saying much since my whole body is sore. Even so, I would not trade the past 3 days for anything.  When I first learned about the Susan G. Komen walk 10 years ago I was so inspired, but couldn’t financially join the fundraiser group. As most of you know, around 2.5 years ago I lost my late husband to lymphoma . The pain of watching someone you love slowly be lost to cancer is a heart wrenching one that I wouldn’t wish on my…

60 Miles Walk For Breast Cancer In Michigan

The Susan G. Komen Michigan 3-Day Walk is finally here. While reading this, I have joined more than 500,000 people nationwide who have walked 60 miles over 3 days, raising funds to help end breast cancer. I have raised $2,300. It’s a challenge. Walking 3 days for 60 miles is not easy, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. I know I will be very tired and sore, but I am sure I will be also very inspired by all the amazing people who will walk with me side by side. It will be a once in a life-time journey and I can’t wait to share more details with you next week. So make sure…

What Will Happen After Your Trapped Emotions Are Released?

Lately, trapped emotions have become two key words in my life and career. Lol! You probably have heard me talking about it on my social media. I am hosting a workshop, Clear Emotional Blocks Through Body Wisdom next month. I have noticed that people are not familiar with this line of work about Body Wisdom, Emotional Blocks or Trapped Emotions. So I am writing this post to give more explanation. What Is Trapped Emotion Exactly? Trapped emotions are created or trapped because of events earlier in life. Most of them are dramatic events, like losing a loved one, getting a divorce, being involved in a car accident, or getting layoff……

Susan G Komen 3-Day Walk Fundraiser Party Recap

This past Sunday, my 3-Day Walk partner Alison Hill and I held our Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Fundraiser Party at our beloved Area45 Fitness in Troy, Michigan. It was a long day and a lot of work leading to the party, but it was a success and Alison reached her goal of $2300. Now we can walk together as a team of Color and Grace this August 2nd to 4th! It has been more than 4 months after I personally signed up to walk 60 miles in 3 days to raise money for breast cancer research. First I recruited Alison as my team member. Then I reached my personal…

Get What You Want || Women’s Empowerment Starts On A Personal Level

What is your definition of women’s empowerment?  For me, it is about women being free to be our independent selves. Being treated equally by others in all aspects of life without a gender label. As a woman, I understand I must acquire empowerment myself rather than having it given to me by others. But are we focusing on empowering only certain areas of a woman’s life (like our careers or family life)? Are we limiting ourselves? What about our empowerment in the bedroom and intimate relationships? Women have been socialized to put their needs second to their partner’s needs, both inside and outside of the bedroom. For me, women’s empowerment…

Empowering Women with Natori || I am Good Enough

This post is partnered with Natori. But all opinions are my own. I used to hate my body and dislike myself for a long time. The memory of my mom yelling at me saying how ugly I am and showing me her discussed face seemed to haunt me for a long time. Then I turned 13 years old, my period came and my boobs started to grow. I got yelled at for being a dirty women now. My mom was super ashamed of my body because my boobs were bigger than the average Chinese girls. She made me hunch over so I can make my boobs appear smaller. She yelled…

Being the Best of Me || The Healing Journey from an Abusive Childhood

Two weeks ago during a meditation program called Tree of Life in Train the Trainer with Jack Canfield, I finally broke through and felt the major healing from my abusive childhood. My parents had an arranged marriage. They hated each other but still chose to stick together after daily fights. We were super poor with a dirt floor, straw roof and there wasn’t running water, indoor toilet or electricity. Above suffering from poverty, I had been claimeed as worthless by my mom. According to her, no one will love me since I am so ugly and have a very bad personality. According to her, I am lazy, bad behaved and…

The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® Walk in Michigan Has Been Fully Funded

I am thrilled to share with you this amazing news! My fundraiser for The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® walk in Michigan this August to fight again breast cancer has been fully funded!!! What a journey! It all started 10 years ago. I was invited to a local Susan G. Komen meeting. The speaker there was super amazing and I remember crying and smiling while she was telling us the story. But I didn’t join the fundraiser group because my husband just lost his job. Fast forward to about 4 years ago. My late husband was diagnosed with skin cancer. When you have lived with cancer, most people become more aware…

Celebrating Step-Mom’s Mother’s Day with adidas

This post is partnered with adidas, but all opinions are my own. There are a few questions I have been constantly asked for the last two years. “Are you married?” “Do you have kids?” The obvious answer is “No, I am not married and I don’t have kids”. But the real answer is not that obvious. “I am a widow and I have two step-kids. They are adults and I also have two granddaughters” “Really?!” Lol, I know, my answer is quite long and it often leads to even more questions. I guess my life is quite complicated. As their step-mom, I am the lucky one! All the love I…

Home is The Key ||The Key to Happiness

This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own! Home used to be a bitter and sweet word that, often brought tears to me. When I was young, I hardly had a home. Before I was 11 years old, we had a one bedroom house you may call a shed with a straw roof, mud wall and dirt floor in China. There was no running water, barely working electricity and no toilet. Winter was very tough, I often woke up in the middle of the night freezing and hungry. Then we lost this home, moved to a new city. Over the next ten years, we had moved more…
