Brown faux leather skirt for fall and winter

Brown faux leather skirt for fall and winter Recently, a friend told me that she is already past the age to wear leather skirts. Say WHAT?!?!? I’m not saying we get them from somewhere like Black Ravens but, I mean, she is the same age as me and we don’t exactly qualify for the senior discount yet! The last I looked she wasn’t flashing her AARP card around, playing BINGO or ready to retire. Well that last one maybe isn’t true. I’ve been READY to retire for years; I’m just not ABLE to. That’s a big difference! It did make me think though. Is a leather skirt one of those…

    PETITE FASHION TRICKS NUDE SHOES

PETITE FASHION TRICKS NUDE SHOES This is the 3rd post of this Petite Fashion Tricks series. You can read the previous two here and here.. For a petite person, I’ve covered playing with the length of your clothes and creating or better defining a waist line. It can also be helpful if you can somehow create a long legged silhouette. It’s been said the perfect human body height should be nine times the length of your head. I come up about 2 and a half heads short! How do you measure up? I guess for most of us who don’t have a super model’s figure and height, we wouldn’t mind…

    Road Trip Truck Trouble

Road Trip Truck Trouble So we were on vacation and driving to NYC. We were taking a week and seeing some sights on the way. Monday was going to be our longest travel day and we had been driving for hours but still had pretty far to go. We had decided to stop that night just before crossing over from New Jersey into Manhattan. Hotels and parking were pretty pricy in the city and we would be getting in quite late. So we thought why not save some money and go over (well actually under since we’d be crossing the Hudson River through the Lincoln Tunnel) in the morning? We’d…

    Leather skirt for summer

Leather skirt for summer In today’s Fashion 101, I am going to talk about the classic leather skirt. Wearing leather for summer? I know that to some, it sounds just a bit crazy. But it is totally doable if you choose a faux leather material to reduce the heat. Here are some of my summer leather skirt looks: It’s hard to think of a more versatile piece than your favorite leather skirt. Just like you, it can be sweet, chic or rock the house with serious attitude! For summer, think light or bright colors by choosing blush or red to fire up that summer blaze. More of my look for…

    leather jacket and skinny jeans

Leather jacket and skinny jeans I love leather fashion and you can check out some of my other leather fashion posts here, here and here. I love the combination of a leather jacket, graphic tee and skinny jeans to create the comfy but still trendy weekend casual look. If it’s a black jacket, I will pick lighter jeans. If I’m wearing a darker shade of jeans, I like to pair them with a brown or wine color leather jacket. Anyway, keeping a nice contrast will be more interesting. What is your go to weekend look? My driving story continues below… I got the job? What job? As it turned out…

    leather skirt for spring

Leather skirt for spring Raise your hands if you love leather! I will raise both of my hands. 😉 I grew up with my older brother. My parents were too busy making a living so my older brother was my babysitter. All my clothes actually were hand-me -down from him too. So I looked like a boy when I was young. I mean even when I was in my high school. I guess that is why I feel I am more like a man sometimes. I am very focused, not dramatic at all. And I am very calm and never give up. Lol, sounds like a very boring guy. But…

    Colorandgrace.com 4 Month Anniversary

Colorandgrace.com 4 Month Anniversary! Four months. One third of a year. Ten dozen posts! If we’d been dating this long we would probably have met each other’s parents by now! And by some crazy coincidence, that’s exactly how long ColorAndGrace.com has been around. I know I’m surprised! I had some jobs that didn’t last this long! So, what do I think? Well one thing is for sure, this can be a lot of work! I am really trying hard to post almost every day. Of course the biggest pressure comes from the person in the mirror. This is pretty common for me. I set goals and then almost immediately, I’m…

how to style A Leather on leather trend outfit

How to style a leather on leather trend outfit! Leather is the way forward this season. Skirts, skinnies or satchels; whatever wardrobe staple you’re after, make it leather – the classic, luxe fabric we love all year round. See how I interpret leather on leather trend.;) My driving story continues below. Enjoy! It’s all downhill from here! In a sort of famous book called “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams there is a simple message on the cover of the title book. It says “Don’t Panic”. This message was lost on me. I was learning how to drive in our little car with the manual shifter and…

How to style a Spring leather jacket

How to style a Spring leather jacket Leather jackets are the perfect outerwear when the weather is warming up. I have several different color leather jackets and I wear them all the time during Spring. Here are the looks for a brown studded jacket paired with some white skinny jeans. Read my driving story below: 😉 I’m on a roll now! So, there I was: At a stop sign: At the top of a small hill. For most Americans this is never a problem. Their car has an automatic transmission and they don’t have to think twice about stopping and starting. Just take your foot off the brake and give…

    letter T-shirt and leather skinny

The lessons begin! If you’ve been reading along, you know that I lived in China my whole life until only about 8 years ago. I had never driven a car but quickly found that now I was living in America I would have to learn sooner rather than later. I had explored my very small town about as much as I could by walking and wanted to broaden my new world. Of course, my American fiancé had driven since high school and pretty much grew up in cars. Until very recently the Chinese just didn’t have that same exposure to car culture. America is the home of the road trip.…
