#Summerbyjcrew Event at Campus Martius Park in Downtown Detroit

This past Saturday, I had an amazing time attending the fun #Summerbyjcrew Event at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit. You can watch my Facebook live video for this event and also my new IGTV to see more behind the scene footage of this event. Anyway, when I think about J Crew, the first thing that comes to my mind are their signature blazers, which represent their high-quality preppy wear. I also love many of their statement jewelries. What is your favorite thing about J Crew? I am a lucky girl because J Crew gifted me this whole outfit from head to toe for this event. You can watch the…

I hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July activities. Since most people will have some sort of party going on today, it is relevant to talk about the hottest party that I went to this past Friday. Before I tell you more details about this party, I have to introduce you to Hour Detroit. It is a monthly city magazine covering the Metro Detroit area. It features content on restaurants, arts, and entertainment. Also, trends in fashion and decor. Publication began in 1996. Since then, it has become one of the most well-known and respected local magazines in Metro Detroit. Every year it has online voting for the Best…

What to Wear to a Hot Air Balloon Festival

Road trips, outdoor concerts, pool parties, camping, and all kinds of festivals are the best part of summer for me. In the small town of Howell, Michigan, that I first lived when I moved to America, there’s an annual hot air balloon festival every June. It’s called the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest. It’s been our family’s go-to festival for years. Every year, there are more than 50 spectacular balloons that will fill the Southeast Michigan skies with color. The Michigan Challenge is not only a ballooning competition. It’s a weekend filled with excitement, entertainment, and fun. This annual event attracts more than 100,000 spectators. The colorful balloons aren’t the only attraction.…

G-Star RAW to Open New Store in Downtown Detroit in July

I have heard of G-Star for a few years and I know many celebrities are their loyal fans. I was very excited to hear they are coming to Detroit this July! If you are unfamiliar with this young luxury denim brand, below is some info for you. “This Amsterdam-based denim brand was born in 1989. G-Star RAW has become synonymous with intricately tailored jeans and streetwear for both men and women – the result is urban-inspired, go-anywhere clothing to suit any style. Initially focusing on raw denim, unwashed and untreated to shape this industry and push it to a more eco-friendly direction.” G-Star Raw had one of the quickest rises…

Staycation At MotorCity Casino Hotel In Detroit

This post is partnered with MotorCity Casino Hotel. It seems like everyone knows how much I love travel. It might be less obvious that I am partial to the odd gamble here and there. The Jack Casino online is amongst my favorites. Recently I have received the same question many times: “Where are you going next?” Lol! Well, probably a road trip in June to Charleston, SC, August to Tuscany, Italy and Province, France, October to Athens and Santorini, Greece and November will be to LA. But in between those trips, I probably will take some short trips, or staycations just like I did last week at the fabulous MotorCity…

Look For Less With the Salvation Army On Fox 2 Detroit

You may still remember the post LOOK FOR LESS TO SUPPORT THE SALVATION ARMY ADULT REHABILITATION CENTER (ARC) I wrote in early April. In that post, I used all my great finds at the Salvation Army Store near me and styled two outfits for myself. If I don’t say so myself, no one can tell the outfits are from a thrift store and one of the outfits was less than $10. Two weeks ago, I went to the same Salvation Army store to style 3 of the Salvation Army/ARC employees. I had an amazing time working with these amazing people and helping them to create stunning looks for less. I…

20th Annual Women Helping Women Luncheon and Fashion Show

On Saturday, April 21st, I was invited to the 20th Annual Women Helping Women Luncheon and Fashion Show hosted by the Grace Centers of Hope at the beautiful Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan. This is my second year attending this beautifully presented and super emotional event. You can see more about last year’s event here. This fashion show and luncheon benefit the Women’s programs at Grace Centers of Hope, one of the largest homeless and rehabilitation centers in southeast Michigan. The fashion show featured women in the program, alongside professional models, to showcase spring fashions and talented Michigan designers. When fashion finds a higher purpose, by giving people hope…

Look For Less To Support The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC)

There is a special personal connection between me and the Salvation Army. Back when I just moved to America, my late husband and I were pretty tight on money, so yard sales and the Salvation Army were the two major resources for us, especially after he was laid off not long after. Now you know why the Salvation Army has a very special place in my heart. 🙂 Are you a Salvation Army shopper? I am! Top fashion doesn’t have to mean top dollar — everyone wants the look for less! Last month, I went to the local Salvation Army store in Rochester Hills, Michigan and had so much fun…

Shop Fall Floral at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, Michigan

Shop Fall Floral at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, Michigan This is a sponsored post by Twelve Oaks Mall but all opinions and experiences are 100% my own. Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi Michigan and I have a very special connection. The story of this connection has to begin 10 years ago. When I first moved to America from Shanghai, China, I lived in a city called Howell… population under 10k. In China, we don’t call this little tiny place city, we call it small village. 😉 Anyway, if you have never been to Shanghai, you may not truly understand how huge the changes were for me. Shanghai has 24…

Passion for Fashion the Unconventional Challenge Fashion Show

Passion for Fashion the Unconventional Challenge Fashion Show I have known Mary Rettenmaier for 10 years and she is working non-stop at promoting art and helping others. First, she started the Runway re-purposed fashion competition, which has become a big fashion event every year. You can read my post Runway re-purposed 2016 fashion show to learn more and read an interview with Mary Behind the scenes of Runway Repurposed fashion show. Now, she is working on this new gig to encourage others to create something new, from trash to triumph. I was so excited to be one of the judges for this cool out-of-the-box creation and competition. All designers were…
