Go Red For Women – Know Your Heart Health Number

Go Red For Women – Know Your Heart Health Number I have been supporting Go Red for Women for quite a while. You can read the post Go Red For Women Fashion Show from last year. Why Go Red? Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. Fortunately, we can change that because 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. That is why I am very excited to be a part of this meaningful campaign for Go Red For Women. Most women know their dress size or their husband or kids’…

Giving Fashion a Purpose – Breaking Barriers

Giving Fashion a Purpose – Breaking Barriers There are so many barriers in our lives. The cultural barriers, the language barriers, the final barriers…There are a lot of times those barriers make our lives very difficult. Personally, the language barrier has been my biggest struggle since I moved to America. People used to tease me about my accent. One of my former co-workers asked me what city I live in, I told him Troy. This word gives me so much trouble because I can’t say it very clearly. Wayne State University FDMO Annual Spring Fashion Show Saturday, April 29th I was invited to the beautiful McGregor Memorial Conference Center in Detroit for the Wayne State University FDMO Annual Spring Fashion Show. If you are not sure what the FDMO stands for, here is the explanation – the Fashion Design Merchandising Organization. I had heard of Wayne State University’s fashion major but it was my first time seeing their students fashion show. If I read it right, this is the 15th year of this “Expressions” fashion show. The entire show is student produced and I am pretty impressed with how organized and efficient the entire event was. There were…

Shopping Spring Fashion at Meijer with Stacy London – Part 1

Shopping Spring Fashion at Meijer with Stacy London – Part 1 I have been working with Meijer on several projects since last year. A couple weeks ago I got an email from them. After I read it, I almost fell off of my chair. What?!!! They were asking me to meet with their Massini fashion line spokesperson, Stacy London! The same Stacy London who had hosted the “What Not To Wear” show on TLC? Heck YES! I watched so many of her shows, she even helped me learn English by watching them when I first moved to the USA. She is basically my fashion AND English teacher. 😉 In more…
