I have heard of Shabby Apple many times from my fellow blogger friends. First impression? They have so many cute dresses with a colorful and vintage vibe. If you know me and are familiar with my style, you can tell this online store and I are a perfect match. πŸ˜‰

For a super petite woman like me, the fit and flare dress usually is the best choice to flatter my 5 foot frame when I shop online. I can pull off a maxi but I prefer to try those on to make sure I’m not tripping over it. Recently I have been focusing on collecting more colorful pieces into my wardrobe. When I saw this Nutcracker Dress Pink my eyes were so happy!

I loved the color very much but I was worried because the material looked pretty stiff to me based on the photos on their website. But it was simply too cute to pass so I still decided to give it a try. After a week, I received it and couldn’t wait to try on. My first impression was that the material is pretty stiff as I had guessed. And the shiny surface feels a little cheap. I was not very pleased and was thinking I had made a mistake.

But after a little care from my steamer, it became a very different dress. The glossy surface I was worried about now feels fancy instead of cheap. And as I wore the dress for a little while I now understand why they use this kind of material. Only this stiff feeling fabric can hold the flare shape without additional lining layers beneath as is the traditional way. I am happy again. πŸ™‚ I am wearing a size 8 for this dress, and it’s just a little bit tight as you can see, but I am working to lose some holiday weight. πŸ˜‰ Please note, I’m a professional fashion blogger so don’t try this at home! You may end up with a lot of ill fitting clothes.

  1. That fuchsia dress is gorgeous and I understand the heavier, stiff material. It doesn’t look tight. Do you normally wear a size 8? Oh and you don’t look 5 feet at all.

  3. Your dress is just adorable and pink looks great on you! I linked up a post here about figure flattery and some great tips there for petite gals.

Thanks for hosting the link up every week..love it! Oh and those leopard pups are just delicious!

  4. You look sooo pretty in this striking and vivid dress! I’m a petite too, and I think shorter dresses look way better on me that maxi dresses. Thanks for sharing such a chic look!

  5. Just curious if you could tell me about the fit in the arms? They seem skinny to me & im worried that would be a problem for me :/
