They Got It Right #1
Welcome to a new month and the new and hopefully improved ColorAndGrace.com! I’m always working hard to make my blog better. A big part of that is being more and more useful to you, my wonderful readers! After all, if it weren’t for you, I would just be talking to myself. And who needs even more people thinking you’re weird? 😉 Anyway, I’m going to try a Daily Special menu.
Monday will have fresh home grown “Fashion 101″ posts. This is where I share my unique expertise to pass along color and fashion wit and wisdom. Tuesday will feature “Fashion Chinese Take-Out“. Join me as I let you know what’s going on half way around the world. Most of your clothes come from there, how about your next look? Next is “Graded by Grace” on Wednesday. You’ll see how products I use did on their report card and also some shopping suggestions that will earn you extra credit! ”Throwback Thursday” will relive and re-laugh some of my adventures and travels. The workweek wraps up on Friday with “They Got It Right!” Here I’ll share a few photos of other bloggers who “got it” with the trend topic of the week! Then to jumpstart your weekend I highlight the week that was in “Fashion Gossip” on Saturday. Hey! What about Sunday you ask? Oh knock it off! The weather is getting better and I deserve at least one day off a week! I’m looking for your input, so don’t be shy!
Are you still following celebrities for fashion and style inspirations? Oh no! If so, you’re already out of date! 😉 In fact, nowadays fashion bloggers are the new cool kids on the street and already are at the leading edge of the trends all over the world.
This week I am going to show you some excellent bloggers who got it right and hope you can learn a few tricks from them!
Group 1: White lace skirt set or dress
Why they got it right?
White Lace can be tricky to pull off because it can make you look older or like a bride. And who wants that, right?
Top photo: Want to be chic? Don’t hesitate to show some skin. A two piece outfit is a very smart choice to create a trendy yet still classy look. Especially with the jagged bottom hem adding more interest.
Bottom photo: With a high collar and long sleeves, a short hem line is a must. And it can be even worse if it’s a maxi. If you’re not careful you may look like a nun. Not that there’s anything wrong with nuns; I just wouldn’t look there first for fashion tips! 😉 Also you never want to fully cover up. If you covered your top, then show some legs. Conversely, if you’re wearing a long skirt then show some arms or neck line. And the hat and shoes added the boho vibe which is chic and right now.
Overall, an above the knee length is good for flattering most body types.
Group 2: Boho pants
Why they got it right?
Colorful silky pants are so comfy for spring and summer to create a boho look. But because they are lacking in structures, they can be a hot mess if you don’t know how to style them. 😉
Both: Don’t be afraid of colors. Any colorful piece is actually easy to match. How? just pick one or two colors on the pattern to guide you. TOP photo: The hot pink top and pink edge on the hat make the whole outfit unified. Bottom photo: white can go with every color.
Overall, a flowy and somewhat loose top is the best match for the colorful silky pants. This kind of top can hide our less than perfect figure while still looking good. Remember, if the bottom is covered, show some skin on the top. A hat and a pair of earth tone platform sandals are good base pieces to build a boho vibe.
