Hello folks and I am up and training to do the 60 miles for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk to fight breast cancer.

As you know that my life had been jolted by Cancer when I lost my husband to cancer a few years back. I know the feeling and so I do not want anyone else to go through this ordeal. I don’t want anyone else to lose their loved ones to cancer.
So I have decided to play an active role in making the 60 miles in 3 days walk for the Susan G. Komen. My road to this 3-day walk has been a successful one ever since I signed up for the cause a few months back. I have arranged fundraisers, meet-up parties and even dedicated my birthday for the cause so that someone suffering from breast cancer can see the joys of life for another year.

Since I believe that I have been blessed to achieve more than is intended of me, I am thinking of ways to create awareness amongst women to improve their breast health.
Thus, today I will be sharing with you how you can go braless for breast health while still appearing fashionable.
Recently I came across a nice article on bras and breast health that I want to summarize here for you.

Harvard University published research in the1991 European Journal of Cancer and Clinical Oncologymentioning the relationship between Bras and Breast Health.
Based on this research, Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer published a book, Dresses to Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras.
The main reasons for breast cancer over 40 were listed the book as,
Firstly, the main reason for the increased risk of breast cancer in women over 40 who wear very tight bras, or wear their bras for more than 12 hours a day was the blockage in the lymph nodes near their armpits. These lymph nodes act like dumpsters in our body and take the toxins away from the breast area for excretion. But when women wear tight bras there is a blockage in the free flow of these toxins that are accumulated in the breast area causing infection and becoming a reason for breast cancer.

Secondly, the excessive pressure that the tight bras apply on the chest hamper the free flow of blood causing blood flow issues and even clots in the breast area. These clots can then affect breast health and cause breast cancer.
Thirdly, breasts are meant to be outside the body so their temperature remains lower than the rest of the body. But when women wear tight bras for long periods of time it increases the temperature around the breast area giving rise to hormonal imbalance in the breast area. This can further result in the formation of lumps and cysts in the breast area. The hormonal imbalance and cysts can easily turn into breast cancer any time.
So, ladies, be honest and tell me, isn’t taking off your bra the most relaxing feeling at the end of the day? But why wait for the day to end to take off your bra? With this pleated dress, you can look stylish and beautiful without having the feeling braless(ness) trouble you throughout the day.

You can feel easy, look gorgeous and keep your breasts healthy with this ultra-stylish dress.

It would be really nice if we could change the norm to being braless. Even without any health reasons, it’s simply more comfortable. Also, there are times when my fibromyalgia makes wearing a bra really uncomfortable. I am working on a wardrobe that is more conducive to braless-ness.

Michelle!! YES! I couldn’t agree with your comment more- Please keep me updated with your braless wardrobe.

And if you believe this, please read the same authors’ book about how sleeping on an inclined bed reduces Alzheimer’s. Science, people. Your dress is beautiful though. 🙂

I’m all for going braless for most of the reasons you’ve outined, but i’m not sure that it’s true that cysts can turn into cancer at anytime… From breastcancer.org: “Most breast cysts are benign and do not increase your risk of breast cancer.”

A very good post and informative for many I would think. Since I am a nudist woman I have long understood the value of not wearing a bra and just being natural. It would be nice if we women could enjoy the same top freedom that men do.
Also I can assure that baring the rest of the body has many nice benefits for the lower half of our bodies as well.

That’s a lovely dress Grace and I have found that dresses like this, plus some jumpsuits and shirts, can all be worn without a bra, even if you have larger breasts. Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday!
