Be a Boss Lady With Banana Republic

Being a boss lady, like with anything else in life, is not as straightforward as we make it out to be. Yes, a big part of it is being a strong woman who kicks butt at work, but it’s also a lot of small things that add up. One of the most important parts, in my opinion, of being a boss lady is the way you view yourself. If you are always convinced that you’re going to fail, there is a big chance you might. I get it, being positive and always seeing life as being glass half-full can be challenging. Sometimes we need a little boost to get us feeling ready to take on the world.

This extra boost can be found in so many places– what you eat, what you wear, or who your friends are! I have found that being in the company of women who want to help each other, and see you grow is very encouraging. But, for me, women’s empowerment is making sure not to turn it into a competition with men. We shouldn’t always be competing with men. Women and men are both a part of society and are just as important as the other. Women’s empowerment is taking back the right to be ourselves and to know and learn what our strengths are. We need to work hard and take responsibility to get what we want and where we want to go.

A small step in that direction is dressing the part. For me, wearing an outfit I like and feel confident in can change my mood for the whole day. It may seem a little shallow, but fashion really does affect how you can feel or whether or not people take you seriously!

Let’s imagine for a moment you have a big meeting at work. You have all your notes and talking points memorized and you even have folders laminated. You are beyond prepared for this meeting, they might as well just make you the CEO of the company now! So, you get in the conference room and everyone is in suits and skirts, business casual. And there you are in your worn out jeans, sneakers, and your oversized alumni college sweatshirt. It’s like being caught in a living nightmare. Once everyone sees how you’re dressed they no longer care how prepared you are. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that outfit, it’s just knowing what’s appropriate for certain situations and what isn’t. If we’re being honest, once you see you’re the only one dressed like that you’re less confident in yourself and your meeting won’t go as well as it could have.

Thankfully I have trusty brands, like Banana Republic that make sure I’m always looking professional and chic. Banana Republic is not only business appropriate, but their cute suits give every boss lady the extra boost in the business world to keep them feeling confident. It’s important to not only be confident in you work, but also in how you present yourself.

Now imagine that scenario again, but with a quick wardrobe change. This doesn’t mean you have to dress boring and serious, it just means you’re dressing for the occasion. Meetings are a little stressful anyway, why would you want to spend that time also worrying about whether you’re dressed appropriately or not?

The chic business style Banana Republic is known for offers you a life that seems to have no boundaries because of what you wear. They are also a company that partners with mills all across the world to find the best materials to make clothes that will last a lifetime. Not only does Banana Republic work to get the best materials they can, but they also have unique initiatives in the communities where they source these materials. This program is called P.A.C.E. and works to help educate and empower women in the villages and towns they create the materials in. Live your life in clothing designed for a life in motion.
